I bought a couple of these gates a year ago just before my baby was born. There was a dual purpose behind this gate. 1-to keep the dogs out of the areas the baby was going to be in. 2-to keep the baby out of places he shouldn’t be. So far I haven’t had too many issues with it. The “worst” part I would say I have with this gate is that it’s difficult to push down sometimes. The handle requires a little bit of pressure to get it into place-but it’s not too bad. Sometimes I have problems pushing the gate into place. It sometimes doesn’t want to sit perfect against the wall. The way we remedy it is by putting our foot under the bottom, then pushing the handle down. It usually takes care of whatever problem it’s having. We haven’t mounted it-and don’t plan on it. It’s been great the way we use it. It’s quick and easy to put it into place and take it out of doorways. It usually gets put into place and taken down at least 5 times a day (in between the kitchen and the living room) I don’t understand why other people don’t love this gate, but I do.

I use this gate to keep my two Cocker Spaniels and one Shih Tzu out of my bedrooms and it works perfectly, although one of the Cockers jumped over it because my husband told her how to do so. That’s why I decided to mount the gate hardware and left a little space at the bottom so the gate is a little taller and now she can’t jump over and neither can pass under. I can take the gate easily off and mount it pressure on any door frame of my house. It’s very easy to open and close, a bit complicate at the beginning if you don’t know how it works, but then there is no problem at all. This gate looks great and it is not expensive. I really love my gate.

I got this for our new Yorkie mix to use to get into bed with my invalid husband. It works like a charm. It took me two treats to teach the dog to use the steps. He knows when the steps aren’t there, he isn’t allowed in the bed.

Excellent steps for small animals who can’t jump to get up on bed. Too high for sofa. Sturdy construction and very stable. Steps are covered in brown industrial carpet which cats love to scratch. My cat (injured paw) easily became accustomed to using the steps.
