Long Hair Care Tip Ideas
For those of you out there who have long hair, there are a few long hair care tip ideas that are going to come in very handy. Whether you are interested in a free hair care tip or not, these long hair care tip ideas will ensure that your long hair stays healthy and free of split ends.
Frequent Trimmings
The best long hair care tip is for you to make sure that you get in to your stylist to get a trim on a regular basis, preferably every six to eight weeks. This way you can avoid getting split ends and keep your hair looking healthy and shiny. You don’t need to get a whole bunch of hair taken off at a time, even just a centimeter or two to keep it free of split ends.
Remember, when you have split ends in your hair, they will continue to grow and you will keep getting more and more of them, whereas with frequent trimmings you will be promoting healthy hair growth.
Moisturize
Moisturizing is another important long hair care tip. More than anything you need to make sure that the very ends of your hair are kept moisturized, to prevent them from becoming dry and brittle and splitting. However, you should not avoid the roots of your hair because this is the hair that you will be seeing and so you want to make sure that it is healthy and well taken care of.
When you put conditioner or moisturizer in your hair, you should really always start at the ends of the hair and then work your way up. This way you are still providing moisture to all of your hair, but getting the most in the ends and the least in the roots.
Avoid Over Heating
Another important long hair care tip is to avoid over heating your hair. Every time you style your hair and this means blow drying, flat ironing and curling, you are damaging it. Try to only style your hair a couple times a week at the most and then during the rest of the week just work with it in other ways.
For instance if you flat iron your hair, try to only do it once or twice a week and then keep your hair up most the rest of the week so that you don’t have to worry about over heating it and causing it to break and become damaged.
